Shipping & Returns

How Our Orders Work

VK Hardware is an authorized dealer for fourteen premium hardware brands. Most pieces in our catalogue are not warehoused — they're made-to-order or dealer-fulfilled, which is how we can offer the full finish, size, function, and rosette/trim range each brand produces without compromise.

Every order moves through two stages:

  1. Stage 1 — Supplier to our Oakville showroom. Once your order is placed, we order it from the brand. The brand-specific lead time (below) is how long this stage takes. You'll see this same lead time in the "Dimensions & Specifications" section on every product page.
  2. Stage 2 — Showroom to you. Once it arrives at our showroom, we inspect it, repack it, and ship it via your chosen carrier service. This stage takes 1–7 business days within Canada depending on the speed you select.

VK Hardware-branded products are the one exception — our own line is kept in stock at the showroom, so Stage 1 is skipped and these orders ship within 1–2 business days.

Brand Lead Times (Stage 1)

These are typical times from order placement to arrival at our Oakville showroom. Custom or special-order finishes can add 2–6 weeks on top.

For large-quantity orders (builders, multi-unit projects) or custom finishes, we'll confirm the exact lead time at the time of order. For the most current timing on a specific item, email info@vk-hardware.ca or call 905-847-7774 before placing the order.

Shipping Options (Stage 2)

Once your order has arrived at our Oakville showroom, we offer the following delivery options. All shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on package size and destination.

Canada

United States & International

We ship every product in our catalogue to the United States and to international destinations worldwide. Duties, taxes, and customs fees are the responsibility of the recipient. Transit time and rate are calculated at checkout based on destination.

Order Status Updates

You'll receive an order confirmation immediately when you check out. We'll send another email the moment your hardware arrives at our showroom and again with a tracking link the day it ships to you. If you'd like a status check at any point in between, email info@vk-hardware.ca with your order number.

Returns

Return windows vary by brand and start on the day your order is delivered. To qualify for a return, every item must meet all of the following conditions:

A 25% restocking fee applies to all approved returns, with one exception: VK Hardware-branded products carry no restocking fee. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the product arrived defective or we shipped the wrong item.

Return window by brand

To start a return, email info@vk-hardware.ca with your order number and the reason for return. We'll respond within 1 business day with a Return Authorization (RA) number and shipping instructions. Returns sent without an RA number cannot be processed.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

Inspect every shipment within 7 days of arrival. If anything is damaged in transit or doesn't match what you ordered, photograph the issue and the packaging and email us right away — we'll arrange a replacement at no cost and no restocking fee.
